Betcha my Jolly Wow!

Last week, we celebrated our little Prince's 1st Birthday Party.  We chose to celebrate it with a small and simple party (with less than 30 guests---kids included!) and held it in Jollibee.

Why Jollibee?  Because we love the food and it's stress-free!  Haha!  They offer party packages (which you can customize) that include almost everything you need (balloons, party hats, invitations, a few game prizes)!  It also includes a Jollibee mascot appearance (definitely not just a simple meet and greet!).

The dance number by Jollibee definitely made the party more fun!  It's the dancing that actually sealed the deal, heehee.

The Party Host also prepared games which the kids and adults enjoyed.  I think this was one "children's party" where the adults enjoyed more!  Haha!  (Actually, there were only 7 kids during the party!)

Everything was done in 2 hours!  The "party" may be short and there were only a few guests but we had a blast! =)  Keeping a party simple doesn't mean it can't be fun. What makes a great party?

Good food and great company! =)

Someone turned One!

Someone just turned 1. . . .a few days ago =)

I can't believe how fast this bouncing baby boy . . .

grew up to become a little man!

Our own little Prince

To our Dearest Little Prince,

Someone asked me what my birthday wish was for you and the only thing that I can think of that moment was for you to always feel blessed and loved.  Because when you do, you will just be so happy with what you have that you would want to share yourself and your blessings with everyone. . . and hopefully by doing this, the world will become a better place.

I also wish that you thrive in life and find its meaning .  The journey will not be easy but always remember that we have your back.

Happy 1st Birthday Sweetheart . . .We love you to the moon and back!

My New Favorite Number!

Eight is my favorite number because a) it has been said (for the Chinese) that it's a lucky number and b) our wedding date is on the 8th too.

But I just found my next favorite number!

Yesterday morning, the Princess and I were doing puzzles (the puzzle's design shows the numbers 1-20).  I know that she already knows her 1-10 so I don't expect her to know the rest of the numbers.

But I was wrong!

She saw this puzzle piece

And shouted. . . "Double 1!!!" (Haha!)

Anyway, so I told her, that's the number Eleven.  (But the little girl has a point, it is a Double 1!)
I am surprised (and proud) that she used the word "double" and came up with her own "number". Haha!

Now I'm afraid to show her my tops size, hahaha!

Hope you had an enjoyable weekend full of good laughs! =)

Little Miss Independent (Take 2)

Our little girl learned how to hold her bottle when she was 5 months and when she was about 16 months, she learned how to eat on her own.

I've also blogged about her, being our little Miss Independent in a previous post.

Please indulge me as I share with you another Proud Mommy moment for me. =)

This morning, when I walked into the room, I saw this. . . .

All because my little Sweetheart wanted to fix her own milk!  She even got a tissue and wanted to clean up this mess. (Heart melts. . . )

To my little girl, I am so proud of you!  I know you want to explore and do things on your own now, and I will let you do so (as long as it doesn't harm you).  Always remember that Mama and Papa are here to guide you.  We will always be here for you.

P.S. I hope you won't change. . . that you will always remember to clean your mess. . . until you reach your teenage years!  Haha!

You're beautiful!

The little boy has been mistaken for a girl several times already.  Somebody even said he can be the next Ms. Philippines!  (Ummm, I don't really remember anyone from my childhood telling me the same thing, haha!)

I can't blame them . . .

Which reminds me. . . .

So people say he/"she" is beautiful, and I claim that he looks like me. . .

I hope this photo convinces you, heehee

Does it follow that I'm beautiful too? HAHAHA!!!

Anyway, this afternoon, we decided that it's time to for him to get his first haircut --- NOT because of the "he looks like a girl" thing.  I actually don't mind when people say that.  It's just that we want it to look neater.  For us Filipinos, it is customary for babies to have their hair cut when they turn 1 year old.

But we say, we can't wait so we are doing it now, haha!

After a few snip here and there. . . .

Tadahhhhh!

Looking at the picture above, I can only say. . .

My dear little boy, you are growing too fast!!!

Happy Weekend everyone!

Turn, Baby, Turn

Over the weekend, we were celebrating one of Bunso's Milestones . . .

Bunso happily watching TV

Then he turned on his side and started feasting on his hand . . .

Then using his arm. . . .rolled over for the first time!!! Woohoo!

What you didn't know . . .
there were six  grown-ups (who stopped what they were doing) and his doting Ate cheering him on!

We are all excited for the other Milestones that are yet to come, the cameras are ready! =)

Ate goes to School

I know that you have probably heard this line a million times!  But it's true and I'm going to say it again, haha!  Time flies soooo fast especially when it comes to children . . .

I've blogged about dressing up Janina with a school uniform last year just because her cousin has outgrown it.
June 2102
See what difference a year makes!

June 2013

She's just two years old and is going to a Pre-Nursery class (During my time, there was just Nursery, and today, there's even a class before Nursery!) . .  . I know some of you may think that she is still too young to go to school.  But if there's one thing I like her to learn . . . even before her ABCs and 123s . . .I want her to learn how to socialize and interact with other kids.  Meeting them and playing with them would make learning more fun!  (Not that I make a boring teacher at home!  Haha!)

When I attended the orientation for Parents given by the school, the School Administrator shared with us a quote that reinforces the importance of early childhood education  =)
“The first six years of life set the stage for lifelong learning, behaviour, health and well-being.” Dr. J Fraser Mustard
So yes, I am happy I did send her to school this early . . .

Ate goes to school for 2 hours everyday.  What happens in those two hours?  They have table activities (Coloring and Arts), Circle time, Music and Movement time, Playtime, Storytelling and ofcourse . . .Snack time!  Heehee

Oh and you know what her least fave thing to do is?

Having sticky glue in her hand!

This is her when we are on our way home . . .

Mastering the letter Z . . . . for Zzzzzzzz . . . zleep . . . .Haha!

Hope you had a productive day too just like our Ate! =)

Milestone

I've been teaching the Little One to say her 3-syllabled name.  One day, I asked her what her name was and she said. . . Niiii-Na. (Never mind that she missed the first syllable)

Two Syllables.  Happiness.  Music to our ears. =)

Oh and she has become Mommy's Little Helper too . . .

She discovered that pushing the cart is much more fun than sitting on it, haha!
